The gate is the part of a fence people touch every day, and the part that fails first when it is built wrong. A good gate is square, braced, hung on the right hardware and sized exactly to its opening.
Expert Fence builds custom walk gates, arched gates, arbors and driveway gates in wood and metal in our own Alexandria fabrication shop, then installs them with our own crews. We also install and service automated swing and slide gate operators with keypads, intercoms and vehicle detection.
Every option is priced on the same written estimate, so you can compare real numbers for your property.

Gates sag when the frame is not braced correctly, the post is undersized, or the hinges are too light for the weight. Often an anti-sag kit, gate wheel, new hinges or a reset post fixes it, usually a half-day job. See our fence repair page.
Often, if the gate and posts are strong enough to carry an operator. We assess the gate during the estimate and tell you whether it needs reinforcing first.
Typically 3–5 weeks from approval to installation, most of which is fabrication time.
We install UL 325 compliant operators with safety loops and photo eyes so the gate stops or reverses when something is in its path.
