Information we collect
We only collect what we need to quote, schedule and complete work. When you submit an estimate request, bid request, material order or newsletter signup, we collect the information you provide — typically your name, company, email address, telephone number, property or delivery address, and details about your project.
When you place a material order we also collect order contents, fulfillment preference and any customization instructions. Payment is processed by our office; we do not collect or store full credit card numbers on this website.
Automatically, our site and its analytics tools may record your IP address, browser and device type, referring page, pages viewed and approximate location derived from your IP address.
How we use it
To prepare and deliver estimates and bids; to fulfill and deliver material orders; to schedule site visits and installations; to communicate about your project; to keep records required for licensing, warranty and tax purposes; to improve the website; and to measure and target our advertising.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate — including our accounting system (QuickBooks) for orders and invoicing, form and email delivery providers, delivery carriers, and analytics and advertising platforms (see Cookies & Tracking). We may also disclose information where required by law, to enforce our agreements, or in connection with a sale or transfer of the business.
Retention
Estimate and order records are retained as long as needed for warranty, licensing and tax obligations — generally seven years. Marketing contact information is retained until you unsubscribe.
Your choices
You may unsubscribe from marketing email at any time using the link in any message. You may request a copy, correction or deletion of the personal information we hold about you by emailing expertfence@expertfence.com. Deletion requests are subject to records we must keep by law. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under Virginia's Consumer Data Protection Act or comparable law; we honor those requests regardless of residency.
Children
This website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Communications Consent
By providing your telephone number on a form on this website, you agree that Expert Fence and its representatives may contact you at that number about your inquiry, estimate, order or project — including by telephone call, text message and email — using automated or manual means.
Consent to receive marketing calls or texts is not a condition of purchase. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. Reply STOP to any text message to opt out, or HELP for assistance. You may withdraw consent at any time by calling (703) 751-3008 or emailing us; withdrawing consent for marketing does not stop transactional messages about work already in progress.
Calls to or from Expert Fence may be monitored or recorded for quality and training purposes.

Estimates and quotations
Only a written estimate or bid issued by Expert Fence constitutes a quotation, and only for the scope stated in it. Website content, calculators and category pages do not create a price commitment.
Intellectual property
The Expert Fence name, logo, site design, text and project photography are owned by Expert Fence or used with permission, and may not be copied, reproduced or republished without written consent. Third-party marks appearing on this site — including accreditation and rating marks — remain the property of their owners and are used to identify those organizations.

We link to third-party sites for convenience. We do not control and are not responsible for their content, products or privacy practices.
Disclaimer of warranties
Except for warranties expressly stated in a signed contract or written warranty document, this website and its content are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Expert Fence is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from your use of this website. Nothing in these terms limits any warranty or obligation expressly set out in a signed contract for work performed.
Terms of Material Sale
Pricing and availability
Prices are subject to change without notice and are confirmed when our office accepts your order. Trade and volume pricing is available to qualifying accounts and may require verification. Displayed stock levels are drawn from our inventory system and may not reflect real-time availability; we will contact you promptly if an ordered item is short.
Custom cutting and fabrication — final sale
Material cut to length, milled, drilled, finished or otherwise modified to your specification, and any custom-fabricated item including gates, railings, ornamental work and turned post caps, is final sale. These items are made to your dimensions and cannot be returned, exchanged or refunded. Please verify all measurements before authorizing production. Lead times for custom work are estimates and are confirmed at order acceptance.
Returns on stock material
Unused, undamaged stock material in original condition may be returned within 30 days with proof of purchase. A restocking fee may apply. Special-order items, clearance items, and any modified material are not returnable. Return freight is the customer's responsibility unless the return results from our error.
Delivery, pickup and inspection
Delivery dates are estimates. Someone must be available to receive and inspect the delivery, or delivery may be left at the address provided at the customer's risk. Please inspect all material at delivery or pickup and note any shortage or damage on the delivery ticket. Claims for shortage or visible damage must be made within 48 hours. Delivery to a site that is inaccessible, unsafe or unprepared may incur a redelivery charge.
Payment and title
Payment in full is due before release of material unless credit terms have been established in writing. Title and risk of loss pass to the customer upon delivery or pickup. Wood is a natural product; variation in color, grain, knots and moisture content, and normal checking, cupping or weathering, are characteristics of the material and not defects.
Estimates, Contracts & Warranty
Written estimates are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise, and are based on conditions visible at the time of the site visit. Undisclosed or concealed conditions — rock, buried debris, utilities not marked, unstable soil, unrecorded easements — may require a change order.
Work is performed under a written contract that governs scope, price, deposit, schedule and warranty. Where the contract and this website differ, the signed contract controls. Deposits, progress payments and cancellation rights are as stated in that contract and in accordance with applicable state law, including any statutory right to cancel.
Expert Fence warrants its workmanship for the period stated in your contract. Manufactured products — vinyl, aluminum, steel, hardware, automation equipment — carry the manufacturer's warranty, which we will register and pass through. Warranties do not cover normal weathering of wood, damage from impact, vehicles, storms, fallen trees, flooding, frost heave in saturated soil, vandalism, third-party alteration, staining or sealing performed by others, or failure to perform reasonable maintenance.
Customer is responsible for identifying property lines and for obtaining any neighbor or association consent required. Where we coordinate a survey, permit or association submission on your behalf, we do so as your agent and cannot guarantee an approval outcome or the timeline of a third-party authority.

License numbers appear on every written contract and estimate. We encourage you to verify any contractor's license before signing — with us or with anyone else.
Underground utility marking is coordinated through Miss Utility (811) before excavation, as required by law. Private utilities, irrigation, invisible fencing and low-voltage lines are not covered by public marking and should be identified by the property owner.
Governing Law, Disputes & Changes
These terms and any dispute arising from this website or from the sale of material are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Venue for any action lies in the state courts serving the City of Alexandria, Virginia, unless a signed contract for work specifies otherwise or applicable consumer-protection law provides you a different venue.
Before filing a claim, we ask that you contact us directly so we can attempt to resolve the matter. Most issues are settled with a phone call and a site visit.
We may update these statements as our practices, services or the law change. The effective date below indicates the most recent revision. Material changes will be noted on this page. Continued use of the site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
